With this new collection, Antonio Prete delves into the themes that are dearest to him, and that of poetry are very pure elements: nature and time.

«In this essay on the translation of the poetic text the author places himself at the opposite end of the spectrum from any corseted theory, any peremptory manifesto: he simply exposes, in a fluid, elegant language, with multiple resonances, the fruit of readings and reflections extending over several years and having nourished his own practice of translation. His position is based on two essential facts in his eyes: translation is in itself an act of writing; translation is the best interpretation one can give of a text.

From the very title (“And all is always now”, from Eliot’s Four Quartets), Antonio Prete's verses investigate the status of reality that shows itself beyond the visible order of time. In each instant there is a co-presence of past, present and future. But the co-presence is also further and contemplates the unhappened, the unlived. in vita. The invisible surrounds us. «Una bolla | è il mondo gonfia di niente | che fluttua piano nell'aria | sotto un cielo di stelle spente».
